Visit from Sweden! Part 2
This day my host family left for their summer vacation. When they had left Malin and I started cleaning and preparing for the Crayfish party that I was hosting. Around 6 pm people starting showing up and when everyone had come Rebecka started making her “skagenmacka” a sandwich with shrimp and I have been craving this for so long and it was SO delicious! The crayfish was good as well and when we had eaten Rebecka had made a “Tipspromenad” = Quiz walk, and the questions was about everyone at the party, it was tricky but fun and when it was time for the scoring we had to act the questions to find out, for example “Who’s the fastest?” and then the three persons how was the answer’s had to do a game and the one who one become the right answer. It was super funny! 😀
Sunday August 20th
This morning I had my Au Pair meeting for the month and it was a “National Dessert Festival” so everyone brought a dessert form their home country and then the host families could buy a plate and go try the dessert and the money went to Cultural Care’s Kids First Foundation. After the meeting Malin and I went home for a quick change and went to pick up Tamara to go hiking to Rattlesnake 🙂
Monday August 21st
This day I showed Malin Seattle Center, we bought Starbucks and walked around for a while before we took an uber to Kerry Park, which is a lookout park over Seattle with Space Needle and Mt. Rainier. After taking some pictures we went back home for lunch and then we pick up Nick and we went to Alki beach for dinner and spent the evening watching the sunset 🙂
Tuesday August 22nd
We woke up early and packed snacks and lunch for our roadtrip to Port Angeles, Forks and La Push (Twilight places) and hiking trip to Olympic National Park. We got a little late start because we needed to do an oil change on the car. Our first stop was in the National park for our hike at Hurricane Ridge, it was really beautiful and sunny! After a couple of hours hiking we were back at the car and drove back to Port Angeles for dinner and then off to La Push Beach, to look for Jacob 😉 We did found his house and walked around on the beach and then off to Forks. When we got to Forks the Visitor Center was closed cause it was around 8/9 pm, we got a little disappointing but Twilight fan as I am I found all the addresses for the places on the Twilight tour and we started with Bella’s house 🙂 When had seen everything we wanted we started the long drive back home! I think in total I did a 10 hour drive this day but it was worth it cause we got to see a lot and we had fun 😀
This was Malin’s last day so we went downtown Seattle, we went up in Columbia Tower and the view was amazing! After this we walked to Cheesecake Factory and waited for Nick, Matilda and Linnéa. We had one last dinner together and it was as usual really good!
We woke up around 8 so Malin could pack and around 10 pm me, Malin and Nick left the house to go to the airport. I walked Malin in and we hugged goodbye (for now) more like a “See you in 8 months” it was still sad so when I got to the car and we started driving, I started crying.
