December 23rd
In the morning Nick and his sister went to take pictures with Santa and after that we had burgers for lunch 🙂 We dropped Nick sister off at home and then Nick and I went Ice skating, it was a lot of fun! 😀 After this we grabbed a coffee before it was time for Happy hour 😋After that we walked outside and found a good spot to watch the Snowflake lane parade!

December 24th
In the morning Nick and I Skyped with my family back home in Sweden. In Sweden we celebrate Christmas on the 24th so my family was eating Christmas food and having fun. This was my first Christmas away from home and it felt a little weird not being there but also good to be there through video 😊 After a good talk me, Nick, his sister and mom started baking Christmas cookies:) When the cookies were done we got ready for our day/evening, to celebrate Christmas at Nicks grandparents (dads side). We some good food, opened gifts, dessert and then a gift game called White Elephant, it was a lot of fun! During the evening we also got snow 😀 When it was time to go home we drove over to Nicks other grandparents for a quick visit and the snow was pouring down! So when we left Nick and I got stuck in a little hill with his car, luckily his parents where right behind us and his dad could help us. At the end of the night Nick’s while family drove me back to my house since I had promised to be there for Christmas morning!

December 25th
Christmas morning! The girls woke up super early and K came down and knocked on my door “Ronya, Santa had been here!!” So I put on my Christmas sweater and walked up and the opening of gifts was in full force! 😀 After maybe 30 minutes it’s was over and I went back to bed for like an hour. Woke up again, took a shower and packed my back and waited for Nick and his dad to come pick me up so I could celebrate Christmas morning at Nick’s house 😊 A lot of Christmas gifts!! I’m so thankful and happy for everything I got 😍 When we had opened our gifts Nick’s mom had made breakfast 🙂 After breakfast me, Nick and his sister went out to play in the snow. I showed them how to make a snow lantern and we also made a snowman 🙂 When we got inside we got ready for Christmas with a Nick’s moms family, so another night with good food and gifts! Back home Nick had some friends over and we played some beer pong, fun night 😀

December 31st
New Year’s Eve!
In the afternoon I met up with Frida, a Swedish girl who was an Au Pair here and is back visiting her host family. Her host dad gave her two tickets to the Seahawks game! So Frida and I went 🙂 It was important game and sadly we lost 🙁 After the game I hurried back home and had like 10 minutes to get ready for the night! Nick picked me up around 6:10 and I made my makeup in the car on our way to Purple Cafe for a date night. We had a cheese plate, glad of wine and some pasta – delicious! After a nice dinner we drove to a free parking lot where we met up with Frida and Zach and walked around 20 minutes to Seattle Pacific Science Center. We had bought tickets to their NYE party Spectra 2018. The science exhibits was open so we could walk around with our drinks and do the experiments. There was also a dance floor with different DJ’s all night from the local radio station KEXP. At midnight we grabbed our free champagne and walked outside to watch the fireworks from the Space Needle, so amazing! 😀 When the fireworks was over we hurried inside to get a good spot in line for the laser show, Laser Stranger Things. I have seen a laser show before and didn’t know what to expect but it was so cool!! After this walked through the butterfly garden before we dance the rest of the night 😊

I had a really great first American Christmas and I got to spend it with two lovely families!

Happy New Year 🎉 I can’t believe that 2017 is over! Time flies by when you are having fun and my Au Pair life is soon coming to an end. 2017 was a really great and fun year! I’ve seen a lot of beautiful places and met some really great people, one in particular – this guy who mean so much to me ❤️I’m so excited for all the things 2018 will offer!
