Wedding Weekend, Day 3 – Wedding Day!
April 14th 2019
Finally Wedding Day!!
Me and Nick stayed the night on site of our wedding venue, Willows Lodge! A beautiful location in Woodinville’s Wine Country, this was the first venue we visited and we fell in love with the style of the building and the backyard/garden were we decided to have our ceremony.
We woke up early and I had my hair and makeup done at 7 am, I hired Paper Dolls NW, both my make up artist and hairstylist made an incredible work and I have never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day <3
At 9 am, me and Nick had our first look and couple photos with our amazing Photographer Cory Parris. I remember nervously walking down the aisle towards Nick and tapping him on the shoulder and he turned around. We both smiled with tears in our eyes, it was a wonderful moment! Our photo session was fun and Cory was so good and nice helping me and asking me what I was able to do with my foot, since it was broken and I had to wear my hard sole shoe (Not what I wanted to wear on my wedding day :/).
Our ceremony was scheduled to start at 10:30 am. Everyone in the bridal party + parents and grandparents lined up and the music started. I had my four bridesmaid’s walk in with Nick’s four groomsmen to a piano instrumental version of “Here Comes the Sun”. The flower girls were my former Au pair kids, D & K and our Ring bearer was Nick’s cousin C. My dad walked me down the aisle and for this song I had picked a Swedish song, “Brudmarsch till Per och Anna” by Orsa Spelmän. Once again I walked down the aisle towards Nick, this time looking into his eyes with a big smile and him smiling right back at me, another wonderful moment! Our ceremony was officiated by Nick’s grandpa Henk, we loved having him officiate us since he officiated Nick’s parent’s and other family members. Nick’s Aunt’s Mel and Merri sang a song during the ceremony, they sang “Merry Me” by Train and at this moment I’m doing everything I can to hold back tears, it was so beautiful! Nick and I had written our own vows, and I had added another Swedish element into the ceremony which was to kneel during a prayer. The ceremony was sweet, fun and so lovely and we walked down the aisle together to Bruno Mars song “Marry You”.
Here are some pictures from the day, so hard to pic! Our photographer was amazing, Cory Parris, he did more than just take beautiful pictures he also made sure everyone looked their best and talked to the guests! Guests are still talking about how amazing he was 😀
First look <3
Wedding details 😀
The ring box (pic 3) was made by Nick’s grandpa and the cake was a traditional Swedish Princess Cake. The champagne glasses at the Mr. & Mrs. table belonged to my mom <3 The white Dala horse, was custom made for our wedding and it’s a very traditional piece from where I come from in Sweden 🙂 In my bouquet and the flowers on the table I had twigs of myrtle which is an old Swedish tradition as well.
The Wedding Party!
The ceremony <3
“Something old, Something new, Something borrowed, Something blue”. My something old was my flower headpiece, my grandmas wedding headpiece. My something new – dress, something borrowed was the butterfly in my bouquet that I borrowed from Nick’s grandma and it symbolized my Mom. My something blue was my earrings.
It was a wonderful wedding, I wish I could do it all over again….and then not have a broken foot! I did a lot of walking and dancing, even though I wasn’t really suppose to but it was my wedding. The next day my foot was all blue and not happy but it was worth it, because I loved every minute of it <3 I’m so happy and thankful for everyone who came and celebrated our special day with us!
