Franklin Falls! ❄️
Saturday January 13th
After getting dressed I drove over to Nick's house and we got ready for the hike. Since it's winter and we had read that it might be snow on the road we made a stop to buy chains for the car since it's the law to have them in car even though you are driving an four-wheel drive. We also stopped to buy some spikes to have on our shoes since the trail was gonna be covered in snow. While on the road there was no snow!! But we couldn't take the car all the way to the trailhead cause it was closed because of snow. This meant we had to walk an extra 2.5 miles. I chose not use my spikes and the first part of the way was just dry asphalt until it became snow!
We started the trail and it was snowy and wet but I did fine in my boots. I did saw people with snow shoes 😅 I guess not everyone is used to snow. Once we got to the waterfall there was a line to get down, I walked past some people and sat down and glided gracefully down on my shoes! Some people actually did the same after me 😉 The waterfall was really beautiful with frozen snow and ice around it!
